It finally rained.
We finally received some much needed rain here in Central Texas and the Austin area. Although it won’t make up for the current drought conditions in the area, it certainly helps. This afternoon’s storm total image from the National Weather Service shows
Leaving work today, I caught the following cloud images with rain showers visible just below the clouds. What was interesting was how clear the sky was in the immediate surrounding area.
After I got home, I saved a Wunderground.com image of the NEXRAD Local Radar at the time I took the photo. You can see the red radar echo of the cloud formation I captured in the photograph just below where it says “Phoenix” on the map.
